The performance of an LED chip is dependent on optimizing heat management. There are 3 common methods used to dissipate heat and improve performance, – use of a fan, woven heat sink or formed aluminum heat sink.
GOOD LED OPTION:
The Woven Style LED heat sink uses a woven copper belt, attached to a copper rod that transmits heat to a broad surface area. This non-mechanical solution permits a wide variety of vehicle fitment. The Philips Luxeon MD LED Chip produces a uniform output colour at approximately 2000 lumens. These bulbs are earlier generation products with a lower lumen output than either fan based or reversible, aluminum base products. Colour is 6000K. Bulb Life is approximately 30,000 hours. Vehicle Specific Kits available.
BETTER LED OPTION:
Fan Based bulbs have higher output than either Woven or Reversible bases. The size of the fan can limit vehicle applications, so the fan based unit may not fit your vehicle. The mechanical fan keeps the chips cool so light output can exceed 4000 lumens. Colour is 6000K. Vehicle specific Kits available.
BEST LED OPTION:
The Reversible, aluminum base LEDs feature a Philips Luxeon ZES LED Chip with greater output capacity than the Woven heat sink. The lumen output is approximately 4000 lumens, depending on the bulb type. This Reversible Series features a base that can be reversed to accommodate vehicle fitments. The bulb can be indexed to best suit the headlight reflector, this produces optimal beam pattern and reduces glare for the driver and oncoming traffic. Colour is 6000K. Bulb Life is approximately 30,000 hours. Vehicle Specific Kits available.
