Cap-it to open in Nanaimo, BC

Franchisor of the Cap-it® Canada’s Truck Accessory Stores™ and Cap-it® America’s Truck Accessory Stores™ chain of stores, acquires Hornby’s Canopy & Accessories, a truck accessory retailer since 1977.
On December 1, 2019, Cap-it will officially take over operations at 2586 Bowen Island Road in Nanaimo, British Columbia and will be known as Cap-it Hornby’s. The location will remain open for business while being transformed into a Cap-it. Customers will immediately have access to the all of the brands available in the Cap-it family, including the recently launched 2020 Cap-it Bull Dog Truck Cap priced at $1,899.
“Cap-it Hornby’s in Nanaimo will be our fourth Cap-it retail location on Vancouver Island, offering great service, quick delivery times at the lowest price to our valued customers” says Andrew Funk, President of Cap-it International. Cap-it has established franchised locations in Campbell River, Langford and Port Alberni. Cap-it Hornby’s will be a corporately operated store until such time a qualified franchisee is selected.
Hornby’s was founded in 1977 by Tony Hornby, the very same year Hank Funk (Founder and CEO) founded Rover Recreation, which in 1990 would become forever known as Cap-it. In 1993 Rod Maley purchased Hornby’s from Tony Hornby and continued to successfully service the Nanaimo community for another 26 years.
